For forty years Dany Doriz has managed The Caveau de la Huchette _ the true temple of the legendary Paris Rive Gauche jazz scene. He is striving to keep the legacy of the golden age of big bands alive. A disciple and friend of Lionel Hampton's _ and a vibes player of genius himself _ he is a guardian angel of Swing, of popular dance Jazz ; an explorer of all forms of Jazz, world-famous sax player Manu Dibango also champions this heritage. He is heard here along with Doriz and internationally-renowned bop trumpet wizard, Ronald Baker. Covered with passion, this album includes jazz classics by Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Sidney Bechet, who contributed to the Caveau de la Huchette success as much as this group's, which plays on stages all over the world.
