Sebastien Texier, the saxophone playing son of French jazz legend Henri Texier, has received a thorough grounding in jazz in several of his father's ensembles, playing alongside such luminaries of French jazz as Rene Urtreger, Julien Lourau, Bojan Z, Daniel Humair and Didier Lockwood. For his third album as a leader, the younger Texier has convened a quintet of rare quality that does ample justice to this captivating set of inventive original tunes.
