Senegal - Sufi Brotherhood Chant

Vocal intensity and religious fervour from the two main Sufi brotherhoods of Senegal (the Tijâniyya and the Murîdiyya, founded respectively in the 18th and 19th centuries), singing hymns and poems to the glory of the Lord. The repertoire was recorded live in Paris at a concert given by the two ensembles at the Cité de la Musique on 22nd October, 2010.
