Splash GDN' is a beat forward collaborative release from the UK's Wipe The Needle and Atlanta's Stan Steam Smith, a classic solid no-frills hip hop record with tinges of soul and funk; throwback in nature but forward thinking by design. Wipe The Needle, the UK-based artist also known as Lee Gomez, has been a prominent figure in the music industry, featuring tracks on influential record labels such as Defected, Soundmen On Wax, Local Talk, and Deeply Rooted. Known for his ability to blend soulful house with deep, emotive beats, Wipe The Needle has crafted a unique sound that resonates with fans worldwide. Stan Smith, aka 'Steam', has been a vibrant force in hip hop for over half his life. Beginning his journey as a B-boy, graffiti writer, and emcee, Steam found his true passion in rhyming. Over the past two decades, he has refined his craft, emerging as a dexterous and versatile emcee based in Atlanta. Steam has fearlessly embraced new challenges and collaborated with heavyweights such as Daz-I-Kue, Illastrate, Kaidi Tatham, Rahgroove, Blaktroniks, and Inkswel, among others. His formidable wordplay and unique perspective have made a significant impact on the hip hop scene.The project will be available on limited edition vinyl and digital formats via the esteemed Australian record label Inner Tribe Records. Adding to the release's significance, it features the late, great UK emcee TY, making it a highly anticipated and cherished addition to both artists' discographies.
