A popular teen idol during the early rock n' roll era of the mid-1950s through the early 1960s, Vinnie Monte was a talented singer with an elastic voice that was equally effective on both syrupy ballads and energetic rockers. The singles he recorded for various labels of the era are highly coveted in early rock n' roll and teen pop collectors' circles. Though he is not as well-known as his contemporaries like Dion, Bobby Rydell or Paul Anka, Monte certainly made his mark and deserves wider recognition for his contributions to the genre. Presented here is his classic 1959 single "Summer Spree" b/w "I'll Walk You Home" for the New York City based Decanter label featuring a lively rocker with vocal chorus on the A side, and a tender teenage ballad on the flip. The single has been newly remastered for this exclusive release and finally made available in the digital domain.
