Hailing from the Camden, New Jersey / Philadelphia area, a part of the country that became a breeding ground for great vocal groups such as The O'Jays, Blue Magic and the Stylistics, three seasoned singers came together to form "Tru" - a highly versatile trio that brought the sweet sound of Philly Soul forward for a new generation. Since they've been active over the past few years, the group has been led by the extraordinary vocalist James "Jimi" Williams, and the equally gifted and charismatic Billy Maynor. Rounding out the trio is the impressive newcomer Paul Jerome, who fits in like a well-worn glove. Hot off the heels of their critically acclaimed full-length album "Someday," the group returns with a holiday gift for their fans, just in time for the Yuletide season. "A "Tru" Christmas" features soulful renditions of popular Christmas songs both old and new, sprinkled with the spirit of Philly Soul for a truly unique holiday experience. Once again, they enlist the talents of legendary producer Butch Ingram and the mighty Society Hill Orchestra to bring the project to fruition and keep the celebratory vibe going through the upcoming holiday season. "Tru" have not only carried on the tradition of the great vocal groups that have sprung from the city of brotherly love, they have also proven that the sound of Philly Soul is very much alive and well, and still growing - thanks to their determined efforts.
