The rumble in the air isn t doomsday, it is not a mid summer storm, although it may sound just like it. A train barreling out of control, full of power, friction and urgency, is assaulting your hearing. The meat grinder you are experiencing is the melding of the Blind Shake and Michael Yonkers. Yonkers pioneering noisy guitar rumbles and cool comforting vocals scramble with the caustic violent rhythms and acrid guitar licks of the Bind Shake for an element that not even Isaac Newton could prove a formula to explain. A miracle meeting of chance. Miracles can happen more than once. Often time s greatness is achieved by a chance meeting, perhaps by fate. The combinations of psyche guitar pioneer Michael Yonkers and upstart noise punkers The Blind Shake are once again a reality. After a successful collaboration in 2007, Carbohydrates, Hydrocarbons, the two unstoppable forces of Yonkers and the Blind Shake are together again. They grinded out a new collaboration over the bitter scornful winter months of Minnesota in Twin Cities basements to produce Cold Town, Soft Zodiac . This cross germination is somewhat of a passage of rite. The Blind Shake is being tutored by Yonkers. The noise rock Godfather. They are proud to carry the torch. Blistering the nal ve tracks of Cold Town, Soft Zodiac with typical Blind Shake gusto and heart. Spilling blood and broken limbs with their aural assault. This split release consists of brand new material from Younkers and the Blind Shake. The release itself is a split, tracks 1-8 are Michael Yonkers with the Blind Shake, and 9-13 is exclusively Blind Shake tracks.
