Detritus is punk, metal, noise, pop, and plain old rock from a time when those things still mattered, a time before Kanye West's MAGA hat and young people playing banjos in public without shame. It reveals a three-piece power trio full of piss, vinegar, and gas-station snacks who were determined to cut a swath through the musical landscape through sheer force of will. For a time, the group was on the cusp of something, but life intervened with their grand plans. Now, with the release of Detritus, The Dames are issuing a blunt reminder that rock is forever, and great riffs are eternal.
