Der hochgelobte Hollywood-Film "Battle of the Sexes" erzählt die Geschichte der herausragenden Tennisspielerin Billie Jean King, gespielt von Emma Stone und ihres legendären Tennismatches gegen den 55-jährigen Tennisspieler und ehemaligen Wimbledon-Sieger Bobby Riggs (gespielt von Steve Carall), welches im Jahr 1973 als eines der zentralen Ereignisse in die amerikanische Sportgeschichte einging.
Die Musik zum Film schrieb der US-amerikanische Filmkomponist Nicholas Britell, der vor allem im letzten Jahr durch seine Arbeit für den Film "Moonlight" internationales Ansehen und sogar eine Oscar-Nominierung erhielt. Aber der Soundtrack enthält auch einige fantastische Pop-Songs: den neu komponierten Endtitel-Song "If I Dare" von Sara Bareilles und auch echte "Hit-Klassiker" "Crimson and Clover" von Tommy James & The Shondells, "Rocket Man" von Elton John und "What is Life" von George Harrison.
