Es beinhaltet bisher unveröffentlichte Performances von Grateful Dead und Laura Nyro, sowie beeindruckende Auftritte des Festivals von Jimi Hendrix, Otis Redding, Big Brother & The Holding Company featuring Janis Joplin, The Who, Jefferson Airplane, Simon & Garfunkel, Buffalo Springfield, The Electric Flag, The Mamas & The Papas, und vielen mehr. Dazu gibt es Kommentare des bekannten NME Journalisten Keith Altham, der das Festival im Jahr 1967 besuchte, eine Abbildung der originalen Künstlerpässe und ein 16-seitiges Booklet - alles verpackt in goldener Folie passend zum 50. Jubiläum. Das Monterey International Pop Festival galt als eines der wichtigsten Events in der Geschichte von Rock & Roll Musik. Es war ein Vorreiter für Charity Konzerte wie z.B. für das Live Aid oder Farm Aid, aber auch für kommerzielle Festivals wie das Coachella oder Outside Lands. Unter dem Motto "Music, Love and Flowers" zog das Monterey International Pop Festival 1967 hunderttausende von Menschen nach Nordkalifornien. Nächstenliebe und Kulturwandel wurde hier gefeiert. Die Rock- Bewegung nahm ihren Lauf, nicht nur in Kalifornien, sondern weltweit unverwechselbar.
