About the series

Breaking Bad follows protagonist Walter White (Bryan Cranston), a chemistry teacher who lives in New Mexico with his wife (Anna Gunn) and teenage son (RJ Mitte) who has cerebral palsy. White is diagnosed with Stage III cancer and given a prognosis of two years left to live. With a new sense of fearlessness based on his medical prognosis, and a desire to secure his family's financial security, White chooses to enter a dangerous world of drugs and crime and ascends to power in this world. The series explores how a fatal diagnosis such as White's releases a typical man from the daily concerns and constraints of normal society and follows his transformation from mild family man to a kingpin of the drug trade.

Breaking Bad is widely regarded as one of the greatest American television series of all time. By its end, the series was among the most-watched cable shows on American television. The show received numerous awards, including ten Primetime Emmy Awards, eight Satellite Awards, two Golden Globe Awards, and a People's Choice Award. In 2014, Breaking Bad entered the Guinness Book of Records as the highest rated show of all time.



About the music The soundtrack to ‘Breaking Bad’ includes a selection of music heard in seasons 1 & 2 of the hugely popular series. It also includes 5 original scores by Dave Porter.

Of the 16 tracks on the album, ‘Negro y Azul: The Ballad of Heisenberg’ is an original composition, referred to as a narcocorrido (drug ballad), written specifically for ‘Breaking Bad’ by Pepe Garza and series executive producer Vince Gilligan.

‘Fallacies’ is an exclusive track on the soundtrack, co-written by Vince Gilligan and Sam Catlin, performed during the TV series by the character, Jesse.
