I'm very proud of these songs as I feel they are the most intimate, honest songs I have ever recorded. I've went into an absurd amount of debt recording 'Family' getting lost in the process of making my dream come true because frankly if I didn't make this CD I was going to loose my mind which in my opinion is the only reason to record a CD. Now as I sit proud; emotionally and financially drained I feel confident that my efforts were not in vain. I have tangible evidence of my relationship with my now 70 year old father as well as the talented musicians and artists who have contributed not only to the sonic presence of this CD, but the visuals of the packaged CD. The artwork on the CD disc itself as well as the ties pictured on the cover were originally paintings by Keith Boyd that were then photographed by Emily Gartner who transferred his images to fabric and sewed them into wearable art. We wear the ties with a matching banner at most of our live shows. Graphic artist Gary Logan Hobdy assembled all of these elements into an attention grabbing presentation crowned by his hand drawing of the band's faces on the cover. Mr. Hobdy with Milksop Studios has also designed our logo and many flyers. As a boy barely too young to remember, I have vague recollection of the band's Guitarist Bob Legate playing with my Dad in various touring acts, so it's an honor to be playing with such talented musicians. Our bass player Jon Hyneman and kit Drummer Greg Tuley both have degrees in music and pursue teaching careers outside the band. Trumpeter Ray Vigurs works outside the band as a Chef and purveyor of wine that he pairs with edible creations, so his talents are always in demand. The youngest of the group is percussionist Tim Mitchell who also works with me in a Duo where I play keyboard bass (left hand not foot pedals) and he plays a hybrid of drum kit with his feet and percussion with his hands. I admittedly spend as much time with my band family as I do with my wife and kids, so I'm grateful for everyone's efforts in making the CD 'Family' a reality. This has truly been a village effort as my wife, mother and Inlaws have helped with my three young children as I spent the extra time in the studio in addition to regular my gigging schedule. With a sigh of relief and breath of jubilation I present to you my second CD Baby release 'Family'.
