Faithful and True

I started working on this project over two years ago and it's always amazing how God puts it all together. It's a fun process for me to turn on my keyboard or pick up my guitar and start singing. I love to read the Bible and that is where most of my material comes from. The track entitled 'Faithful and True' is a song based on the character trait of Jesus that I see in Revelation 19. That scripture and this song make me want to live with whole-hearted devotion to Him. At one point, I thought that I had finished the CD but I started writing another song that I really wanted to include on the project. This ended up being the last track entitled 'The Rider on a White Horse.' When I first wrote the song, it had a Song of Solomon feel to it and I thought I was done. It wasn't until I was singing it in an extended time where Revelation 19:11-16 came into play. I remember thinking, 'How will this work? Does it even make sense?' I really felt strongly that I needed to include it and so Revelation 19:11-16 is sung straight out of the NIV text. Most of the songs are raw prayers prayed to God from a desperate heart. My soul needed simplicity during this season and so most of the songs are piano and strings with a little guitar and occasional tenor sax. May this music encourage you to cultivate rich intimacy with God.
