Combining the best of 20th century music, Matthew Bonazzoli and the Bonazzoli Band fuse rock, country, swing and blues into an addictive mix of intelligent, interesting songs. Originally based in Worcester MA and now calling Ormond Beach, FL home the band has been performing and recording for 25 years. 2013 is not only the 25th anniversary of the band but also heralds the release of the band's seventh album. Titled American Ghost Stories, this new CD is a musical tribute to old time radio thriller shows. The album is a direct follow up to Quiet Little Towns, their 2011 release and continues their signature mix of styles into one new sound. When you first hear the band you will be surprised by the unique and yet somehow retro sound. The vocals are almost like a classic crooner and the instruments range from snarling guitars to subtle, melodic strings. It's all wrapped up into one amazingly likeable style. Says Matthew Bonazzoli, "We combine the best of 20th century music into a 21st century alternative". The Bonazzoli Band is a seven member outfit comprising Matthew Bonazzoli on lead vocals and guitar, Damian Bonazzoli on lead guitar, Patrick Thompson on piano and vocals, Don Rox on lead guitar and vocals, Howard Erlick on bass, Reginald Upshur on drums and vocals and Kathryn Burnsed on backing vocals and percussion. The band itself is geared for live performances while the overall goal of the project is to write and record new songs and help to bring great music into people's lives. There is a sense that there is nothing new coming out of the music industry lately and in part that is true. It is also true that there are components of classic rock, swing, country and blues that will always have an impact on people and that these elements will never go out of style. The Bonazzoli Band combines these elements into a deep, new sound that is finding a welcoming ear with music fans of all ages.
