The debut Biesterveld album is a collection of songs written from the perspective of a person growing up in a small, once-thriving Wisconsin river town. These songs are about a happy childhood, exciting teen-age years, loves, loves lost, as well as the story of a town on the verge of collapse because of economic woes and a dwindling population. 'This Old Town,' the title track written specifically about my hometown on the banks of the Chippewa River, could be a song about any small town going through job losses and store closings. With the help of Phil Solem (Rembrandts), John Richardson (formerly of the Gin Blossoms), Adam Ollendorff (Kacey Musgraves) and Adam Beard (Will Hoge), we went into the studio and put together this compilation of tunes that has a sort of Mellencamp/Springsteen feel and sound.
