In celebration of the legendary music label Stax Records and their 60th anniversary, a unique marketing partnership between Concord Music Group and Warner Music Group's Rhino Entertainment has been created to celebrate the extraordinary rise of Stax Records as an international hit-making machine and its indispensable chapter in American musical history as an integrated company in the heart of the Civil Rights movement. The Stax 60 celebration will highlight the hits, deep cuts and rare tracks from the Memphis label’s heyday of the '60s and ‘70s, including the many legendary artists who jointly created the world-renowned “Stax Sound".The joint campaign kicks off with the Stax Classics series. The series will include 10 albums, 6 from Concord/Stax (UMC) and 4 from Rhino and each will feature 12 tracks in series branded packaging. Available on CD and at all digital retailers and streaming services, these albums will celebrate the prolific Stax careers of Otis Redding, William Bell, Johnnie Taylor, Carla Thomas, Booker T & The MGs, The Dramatics, Albert King, Sam & Dave, Isaac Hayes and the Staple Singers.
