Viele Musiker sind bekannter geworden, aber nur wenige haben mehr gute Arbeit geleistet oder waren länger im Geschäft als Kevin Coyne. Bevor es Coyne von England in seine neue Heimat nach Nürnberg zog und er seine Depressionen und Alkoholprobleme in den Griff bekam, war "Legless In Manila" mit den englischen Begleitmusikern Steve Lamb (b), David Sheen (dr) und Peter Hope-Evans (harm) die letzte Arbeit, die in seiner alten Heimat entstand. In den 90er Jahren hatte sich Coyne wieder als echte Underground-Kraft etabliert und veröffentlichte einen kontinuierlichen Strom von Alben von schwindelerregender Vielfalt (und Verfügbarkeit). Auf dem 1997 erschienenen Album "Knocking On Your Brain" begleiteten ihn deutsche Spitzenmusiker wie Ali Neander (Rodgau Monotones), Tom Liwa (Flowerpornoes), Ralf Gustke (Gianna Nannini) und Willy Wagner (Rio Reiser Band). Besonderer Gast auf der CD ist Gary Lucas (Captain Beefheart, Jeff Buckley, Nick Cave, Lou Reed). Herausragend seine Slidegitarre auf dem Eröffnungstrack "Wonderland", großartig wie immer Kevins Gesang und Interpretationen, seine Texte und seine Improvisationen, über zwanzig Songs wurden in drei Tagen aufgenommen.
