Sounds from the Saray

De jonge Wojchiech Bobowski (1610? - ca. 1675) diende in de tweede helft van de 17e eeuw als muziekjongen aan het Ottomaanse hof, de Saray. De composities die hij daar leerde schreef hij over in westerse notatie. Dankzij de nauwkeurige interpretatie van het Ensemble MarÔgh¯ komt de muziek tot leven. Hij is nooit eerder uitgevoerd, en zo licht en zacht als een ochtendbriesje.
