PRODUKTBESCHREIBUNGEN
In July of 2001 a group of music friends met together to jam. One year later what began as jam sessions was clearly headed towards the formation of an official band called 'Plus'. The band consisted of Marcos, Yiannis, Theo, Thanos, Bill, Dimitris and Yiorgos. The bands debut in Athens and northern Greece came through a competition where they took home three of the four prizes offered that year. It was official that 'Plus' was the band with the best 'Stage Presence', 'Orchestration', and 'Composition'. The success of the competition set the stage for the group to begin recording together making them a new catchphrase in the Greek music scene. Upon completion of the new CD, the group adopted the new name 'Floks'. While in the studio, 'Floks' did not waste time preparing it's first concert tour outside of Greece. While there were a few band member changes (with the departures of Markos and Theo and the addition of Nikos), 'Floks' was well on it's was to becoming an establishment in the music scene with the the 2003 summer release of 'No Matter What', a full-length recording project. Soon after the 'Floks' embarked upon it's first-ever international travels together with a tour wich took them across the United States of America. 'The 'Unknown God Tour' 'Floks' became the first-ever non-African-American band to play in the Alabama Jazz Hall of Fame. The group was presented with the Key to the City of Birmingham and Governor Bob Riley designated August 29, 2003 as "The Floks Music Tour Day." Upon their return to Athens, the group set new goals and released a Greek edition of 'No Matter What' for the Greek market. The album was presented in the Technopolis venue at Gazi in February 2004. Floks continued performing at various settings throughout the spring and summer of 2004, culminating with a performance at Omonoia Square in August. As part of the Athens 2004 "One City - One Celebration" (the cultural activities organized around the summer Olympic Games), Floks performed alongside the band Delirious and other international artists. Following the 2004 events, the band experienced some changes and took a five-year hiatus after the departure of Dimitris. It's 2009 and 'Floks' are back and stronger than ever with the release of their new album titled 'Ystati Katharotita'. This rock praise CD features 10 singers and clearly points out the band's new direction towards a solid rock sound.
