Suono la chitarra da quando ero al liceo. Ho sette chitarre. Mio padre era un accordatore di pianoforte, quindi le tastiere hanno sempre fatto parte della mia vita. E per rendere la vita ancora più interessante, non era raro entrare in casa mia per trovare un gruppo che suonava musica da big band in soggiorno. Quando ero al college ho visto un documentario su Lightning Hopkins e sono rimasto sveglio tutta la notte a imparare tutte le leccate che potevo ricordare. Le mie influenze includono, ma non sono limitate a: The Beatles, Louis Armstrong, Tom Waits, Leonard Cohen, Neil Young, James Taylor, Los Lobos, Randy Newman, Carl Perkins e praticamente tutti a Woodstock tranne Sha-Na-Na.
