Hello, everyone! It's taken a while, but I'm back and present you all with Some Other Time Some Other Place. It's my semi acoustic view of the world. The 16 original songs on the CD are based on my own experiences, and the two cover songs I just feel represent some of the best music of my generation. Bridge Over Troubled Waters, I didn't have a chance to sing this live at my ELVIS Tribute show, but I feel ELVIS's version is the finest, so I included my interpretation based on his style. Santa Ana Winds, far and away for me, is one of the best songs written by Jim Peterik and Frankie Sullivan of Survivor. Also, on the CD, and where I got the title, is an original song called Broken Trust. The song deals with my experience of being abused by my adopted mother. She passed away before I had a chance to express my feelings and this song conveys how I may have approached dealing with this. I hope it inspires anyone going through a similar situation. I included a few acoustic versions of songs that were on FireStorm, namely the title track and a beautiful piano version of I Cry These Tears For You, as well as an Unplugged version of America Keep The Light Shining. The thing I'm most proud of with this project is that aside from 3 tracks that actually have musicians playing, the rest of the CD showcases music that was arranged by myself. While I play no instruments, I just went with one idea in mind.IF I HEARD THIS SONG ON THE RADIO.WOULD I CHANGE THE STATION? I am slightly tone deaf in one ear, and as such went with what sounded good to my ears. Hopefully it sounds good to yours as well. I went track by track, drums, guitar, bass, etc and kept tweaking things until I arrived at what you will listen to here. This work is very much a time capsule of my life and what has gone on in the world around me. Thank you for your support!! Shakkar.
