The Big Takeover Tony Low, a founding member of New York's renowned garage-psychedelic pop band The Cheepskates, has been writing and recording his songs since the early 1980's. His songs capture a timeless spirit of beauty, sadness, and joy which most everyone can relate to. The Cheepskates recorded and released several acclaimed albums from 1984 through 1991. The band's fourth album, It Wing's Above, scored number 49 out of the top 200 power-pop albums of all time in John Borack's Shake Some Action: The Ultimate Power Pop Guide (2007). In 2000, Tony's first solo endeavor, Dandelion in the Year of the Rooster was released. The six-song EP featured songs about time travel, lost love, and hope. ". delicate melodies and haunting hues. Tony is an insightful wordsmith." Twist and Shake A second album, Sleight Of Hand, was released in 2002. " Rock Beat International Tony's third solo album, Time Across the Page, was released in September 2007, and featured twelve original tracks, including a remake of "Where Are You Now", which was originally on The Cheepskates' 1987 album, Remember. "Time Across the Page is a classic disc that grows listen after listen." Under the Tangerine Tree (Italy) Tony's band, The Lowbots was formed in June of 2008. With Mike Glock on drums, and Peter Tyler on bass and backing vocals, the group has performed numerous times in the Triad and RTP areas of North Carolina, including the 2010 Carrboro Music Festival. The release in 2010 of the album, The Lowbots, saw the band bringing to vivid life twelve more of Tony's compositions.
