As one who has been honored to provide the music for hundreds of ceremonies, I can say with certainty that your wedding is an experience that you will never forget. Personally speaking, I hold the memory of my own wedding as one of the most beautiful days of my life. I can recall every detail: the crisp October afternoon, the clear skies, the dried leaves on the ground, that first moment I saw my bride dressed in white, the love I felt, the look in her eyes, the way everyone there radiated happiness, and the thrilling rush as we ran out of the church hand in hand, starting our lives together as husband and wife. Those memories will remain with me forever. They hold within them everything that is most meaningful to me. You, too, will find-or have already had the chance to discover-that mixed with all the glitter, beauty and excitement, each wedding is filled with resonance, and speaks in it's own voice. Through working with couples over the years, I have encountered an ever-growing need for music that, simply put, gives a current expression to the traditional wedding classics. I kept finding that brides and grooms loved the timelessness of the classics but that, at the same time, they really wanted music that spoke today's language; their language. This inspired me to create this album: a collection of music that embraces both the traditional and the contemporary. Thank you for listening to this recording. I sincerely hope that this music illuminates the love and commitment you feel, from the many tones of your relationship to the dance of your shared dreams and imaginations. I hope that this album will find a special place in your collection, to which you can return throughout your life, and always be transported back to the magic of your wedding day. If this music succeeds in doing this, even just a little bit, I will consider myself very fortunate. As to what this album means to me personally.it is a reflection of my own wedding day. I wanted to capture every moment with this music, and to make that day last forever. I wanted to seize everything I was feeling, and to somehow hold on to the memory of that October day; the day I told the woman I love I'd be true to her in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health, and promised to love her and to honor her all the days of my life. Vicente Avella s grandfather was born near Naples, Italy in the shadow of Mt. Vesuvius and within walking distance of the ancient city of Pompeii. His grandmother s family came from the Canary Islands off the coast of Morocco and the Western Sahara. Vicente arrived into this world ten degrees north of the Equator in Caracas, Venezuela. He was born with the heart of a romantic. It shows.
