This album brings the music and humor together. It's closest to cabaret in form, the lyrics rich and sophisticated. But the point of view is that of an overly candid and confident innocent, undaunted by love and misadventure. The music that carries this confection has comfy rhythms, more country and blues than rock but deceptively agile, like the lyrics.
