Distant Duet is a new collaboration between two old friends, Dave Yarbrough and Becky Dunkel. We have known each other since our high school days in Louisville, Kentucky. At that time, we were two parts of a three-member band known as 'Front Porch Music,' which also included singer, songwriter, and friend, Doug Carman. Those were the glory days of folk music, and it was while working together in that band that we first found out how well we could collaborate with each other to produce a high-quality sound. Today, we are again making music after a 30-year hiatus. Given the fact that Dave lives in Waddy, Kentucky, and Becky resides in Grants Pass, Oregon, the reunion could be viewed as somewhat unusual. Yeah, we know. However, we both feel extremely fortunate to have re-connected, so that we can inspire one another to write and record original acoustic music. Geography can make it a bit of a challenge to make the music happen, but it is worth the effort. We believe in what we do and hope you enjoy listening.
