What movie-loving musician wouldn't love the chance to write new music for a classic film? I was given an amazing opportunity when Northwest Film Forum commissioned me to write a new score for the long-lost silent 'Peter Pan.' Using the texture of plucked strings and the wide dynamic range of the harp, my score's delightful mission is to bring J.M. Barrie's beloved characters to life on the silver screen. It was a joy to compose music that expresses the beauty, humor, melancholy and mischief of Peter Pan. Leslie McMichael, Pluck Music 'McMichael creates a soundscape that is both varied in texture and tone, alternating between the various sounds with cinematic panache. Her score shifts between a distinctly Irish rogue for Hook and his men, and Celtic soothsaying arpeggios for Peter, Wendy and their families .
