Charlie Butts and the Filter Tips includes Charlie (myself) and four heavyweights: Danny McCollim on keys, Pat Barclay on guitar, Josh Simon on bass and Luther Hughes on drums. The band has been playing around the Northwest United States for over 17 years, and recently has been sounding so good I had to capture those pockets. Danny and Steve Gamberoni recorded, edited and mixed this album; they did an amazing job and it really does justice to the live performances. I particularly like the order of songs; the album takes me on a great ride. I'm dedicating it to the departed Juel Rowden, the long-time Filter Tip who called up Danny and Pat, who couldn't turn him down. After Juel was gone, Danny brought in Josh and this is the result. Check it out - it's a very happy sound.but that bass could hurt you if you don't watch out. And for the record, when I say peace and love, I mean it.
