THE ELITE JAZZ BAND e·lite or é·lite - The best and most skilled members of a group. And that's just what the Elite Jazz Band brings to each performance. Musicians who are acknowledged as the 'most skilled' at what they do. They perform New Orleans Jazz, country, bluegrass, Beatles, & originals. The Elite Jazz band is one the 'most skilled' of N. California's jazz bands. The BAND Jack Convery - Banjo/Vocals- 'Winner of the Best banjoist of N. California'. Jack has worked with Ella Fitzgerald, Willie Nelson, Perry Como, Bing Crosby, and many more. Band Director of the S.F.49ers for 18 years, Jack has produced (8) CD's. Steve Hanson-Bass- Steve has performed with many of the great jazz artists on the East & West Coast. Kit Nelson- Vocals - a jazz vocalist with great variety and experience, Kit has performed throughout N. California at many jazz events. Gary Neuman- Keys-Considered by many the best ragtime and jazz pianist in N. California. Gary has been performing professionally in N. California of over 30 years. Bob Sakoi (trumpet) Bob started his musical career playing in the Dixieland band at the Great America theme park, later working his way through college playing Latin music in clubs and on the radio. In 1977 he moved to Las Vegas and performed with headliners including Tony Bennett and Sammy Davis Jr. After an 18 year 'retirement' Bob became involved in the Northern California traditional Jazz scene working with many local groups. Bob Scott- Drums Bob has toured and recorded with Ray Charles, Willie Nelson, Dan Hicks, and many more legends of music. He is the first call drummer of many bands in N. California. John Stafford-Reeds- Herb Caen named John the Benny Goodman of San Francisco. John performed over 20 years in the Compass Rose Room at The St. Francis Hotel, One of the premier jazz rooms in San Francisco. Jeff Walton-Trombone-The kid of the group, Jeff performs all styles in many bands from Salsa to Trad Jazz to Rock.
