Gram and Ben Messer, brothers and founding members of Out of Ruin, have struck out away from the label life and self produced their sophomore full length project entitled Slow Down This Hurry. Having written and recorded close to 100 songs over a 13 year career, Ben and Gram are most proud of this latest project. It is the culmination of close to two years of writing and recording. 'We just never stopped writing the entire time' says Gram. 'It was a process of asking ourselves 'is this the best we can do?' and then tweaking where we felt certain portions of the songs needed it.' 'I am proud of every song on this record' replies Ben. 'You always have a favorite tune on any given project, but this one is just different for me.' Soon to be back on the road, the guys plan on touring most of the country over the rest of 2010 and beyond.
