Mit And I'll Scratch Yours veröffentlicht Peter Gabriel endlich das seit langem von Fans sehnsüchtig erwartete Komplementäralbum zu seinem 2010 erschienenen und von der Kritik bejubelten Meisterwerk Scratch My Back. Auf diesem hatte Gabriel in ureigener Weise Stücke von prominenten Songwriter-Kollegen und Bands wie David Bowie, Paul Simon, Bon Iver, Talking Heads, Lou Reed, Neil Young, Randy Newman, Radiohead und Arcade Fire interpretiert. Nun haben ihm fast alle dieser Künstler die Gegenehre erwiesen, indem sie ihre Versionen von emblematischen Gabriel-Songs aufnahmen. Einige - wie Lou Reed ("Solsbury Hill") und Brian Eno ("Mother Of Violence") - ließen sich auf das Risiko ein, das Originalmaterial radikal neu zu interpretieren. Andere - wie Arcade Fire ("Games Without Frontiers"), Elbow ("Mercy Street") oder Regina Spektor ("Blood Of Eden") - blieben mit ihren Interpretationen sehr viel näher an den Originalen dran.
