CARNIVAL OF SOULS starring Candace Hilligoss is a 1962 American psychological horror film directed by Herk Harvey. The plot revolves around a young woman whose life is disturbed by the only survivor of a car accident. To leave the incident behind, she moves to Utah to take a position as a church organist. Unable to adapt to the locals, her life is soon interrupted by the vision of a creepy stranger. As her visions become more common, she feels strangely drawn to an abandoned fair on the outskirts of town. The seductive, abandoned carnival could hide the secret of her tragic past. CARNIVAL OF SOULS contains an organ score by Gene Moore. With various guerrilla filming techniques and a tight budget of just $33,000, "CARNIVAL OF SOULS" has evolved into a cult classic and has been praised by critics and film scholars for its cinematography and gloomy, gloomy atmosphere.
