Con tre co-sceneggiature del frontman degli Smashing Pumpkins Billy Corgan e ospiti della chitarra come Stephen Carpenter dei Deftones e Jonah Matranga di Far e Onelinedrawing, Blue-Sky Research di Taproot ha toccato una vena più melodica rispetto ai suoi predecessori e ha raggiunto i primi 40 nel 2005 grazie a singoli come "Chiamare" e "Compleanno". Si è rivelato il loro ultimo album per Atlantic, anche se, il che probabilmente spiega perché non ha mai visto un"uscita in vinile.
