Überraschung: Die Gruppe mit dem sympathischen Namen Warmduscher ist kein deutsches, sondern ein britisches Musikerkollektiv. Es ist in Südlondon heimisch und besteht aus Mitgliedern von Paranoid London, Mutado Pintado, Insecure Men, Fat White Family und Childhood. Nach "Khaki Tears" aus dem Jahr 2015 ist "Whale City" das zweite Album der durchgeknallten Garage-Rocker. Es erscheint via The Leaf Label und ist in den Worten von Frontmann Clams Baker eine Spielwiese "for the people that have stepped above and beyond their comfort zone". Da fühlt man sich eigentlich direkt angesprochen. Wer noch eine Entscheidungshilfe benötigt, höre sich die drei Anspieltipps "Big Wilma", "Standing On The Corner" und "I Got Friends" an. Der erstgenannte Song erschien bereits als Vorabsingle und sorgte in der Blogosphäre für dezente Adrenalinschübe. "At the point where personal hygiene ends and Kraut-garage begins lies Warmduscher", befand zum Beispiel "Quietus". Hörerfreundlich kommt "Whale City" als CD und LP auf den Markt, dem Vinyl liegt ein von David Ruddeforth gestaltetes Postkartenset bei.
