American Experience: Casa Susanna

Over the '50s and '60s, a nondescript bungalow in the Catskill foothills served as a covert weekend oasis for transgender women and cross-dressing men to commune and live their lives as they desired. With archival footage, rare photographs, and the testimony of surviving habitués and their families, filmmaker Sebastien Lifshitz ("Wild Side") delivers a fascinating window into a more challenging era for those seeking their identity. 87 min. Widescreen; Soundtrack: English.
