Our Thoughts /= Our Actions is the musical painting of guitarist/vocalist/songwriter Javier Canales. It is an amalgation of sounds and styles that begin with jazz, soul, and heavy metal, and ends with spices and inspiration of both American and Mexican folk music. His songs are culled from his many years as a practicing artist and student, traveling around the U.S. and Mexico, and soaking in positive ideas. Along with his band, which includes Brian Hammac on saxophone,Mike Desroches on drums, and Christopher Begnal on bass, Canales has brought to fruition his vision of affirmation, the plight of the working class, and the joys of life through song. This music is meant to be both uplifting and thought provoking-an optimistic push towards a harmonious living. In brief summary, the album offers an acoustic flavor of mixed genres and thoughtful dynamics with a lyrical approach at life's beauties and life's tragedies.
