PRODUKTBESCHREIBUNGEN
This teen protégé of Frank Zappa has a voice like no other, and applies it to these blues/roots rockin' nuggets. Essra Mohawk is truly the 'Secret Diva'. She was the first woman in The Mothers Of Invention and she sang with The Jerry Garcia Band. Essra has opened for Cream, The Grateful Dead, Jimi Hendrix, and her songs were recorded by Tina Turner, Cyndi Lauper, Vanilla Fudge and the Shangri-Las to name a few. Essra's also one of the original voices from Schoolhouse Rock. Lonnie Mack has stated that Essra Mohawk is 'more soulful than Janis Joplin'. Keb Mo refers to her as 'the greatest songwriter on the planet'. Adding to the mix is the fabulous bass contribution of Tim Drummond, who has worked with James Brown and Bob Dylan among others. Addictive, scrumptious bluesy rootsy rockin' music, this CD is all killer, no filler! Every track is a precious gem! In honor of it's 10th anniversary since it came out originally as MummyPump Music's (Essra's independent label) very first release in 1999 and in memory of Mr.MummyPump (Jim Hinchliffe) who passed away last summer (2008), MummyPump Music is making this fantastic CD available for the first time on CD Baby! This is your opportunity to own this impeccable and thoroughly enjoyable album, remastered to perfection for your greatest listening pleasure.
