Debut album release and a two disc mix compilation exclusive the artists own productions, remixes and includes three singles. The artist is a Dutch-American, DJ/Re-mixer/Producer and artist well known for underground flavored remixes of various well-known artists and his collaborations writing and producing techno oriented works with David Bowie, Cydie Lauper and Sting.

REVIEW
Extended Engagement is the slightly odd, sort-of debut full-length from über-blonde, bespectacled Dutchman Jesse Houk, aka The Scumfrog. Its a double CD mix collection of his major works to date, comprising his own compositions and important remixes, coming across as an artist debut, a best of and DJ mix all in one.Its all quality stuff and hangs together well, as youd expect with Houk being a highly talented chap. Its just that youll have heard a lot of Extended Engagement a million times before, from Milk and Honeys "You, Me & The Music" through Mr. Hermanos "Free As The Morning Sun" and Dirty Vegas "Days Go By." Theyre all great tunes, but theyre last years great tunes, and consequently a bit tired, despite the re-rubs.Things pick up a little on the second disc, with more obscure fare. Its a telling example of the albums failing, though. There arent enough new Scumfrog productions for it to qualify as an artist LP, and too few of the unreleased exclusives we expect from great mixes. A few more months in the studio and Houks debut may have been more memorable.
