Editorial Reviews In 2005, a box of tapes escaped from a garage sale and made its way through a network of collectors, record stores and flea dealers to the hands of Ohio's soul expert Dante Carfagna, who linked them to the mysterious Columbus City Award label. Some research has found Prize owner George Beter, who identified most of the uncatalogued tracks. This mysterious tape ended up on the final compilation of Awards (Eccentric Soul: The Price Label, 2007). "You and Me", a simple but irresistible demo credited only to Penny & the Quarters, was found on a studio reel. Our survey of all members of the Columbus soul scene, including retired DJs, producers and prominent local artists, did not achieve any recognition of the name Penny & the Quarters. Although Numero Group liked the song from the first listen, it ended up being a bit buried on its original compilation, as #18 on 19 tracks.
