The seeds for Chance Allies and this recording project were planted on a January morning in 2011 when Tisha Brown asked a friend if she knew any piano players who were interested in accompanying a budding new vocalist. This is how Tisha Brown and David Allen met and soon they were off running. Tisha had never sung jazz before and David had never played with a vocalist before but they didn't let that stop them! Their first public performance was in May, 2011 - only 5 short months after they first met! In February, 2012 they were lucky enough to add Lucas Koehler on Bass to the group. Since their first performance in 2011, Chance Allies with Tisha Brown have committed themselves to playing fundraising concerts for a variety of Madison, WI charitable organizations including Haiti Allies, The Lussier Community Education Center, Domestic Abuse Intervention Services, The Good Neighbors Personal Essentials Pantry, Walbridge School, the American Family Children's Hospital and The Crossing. "What a Wonderful World" is the tune that ends all of their performances. They believe their philanthropic approach to making and sharing our music contributes to making our world a more wonderful place for all and thank all their supporters for joining them in creating a wonderful world in this way.
