DESCRIPTION

After spending the last two years recording at Soup Studios in London with Simon Trought (The Clientele, Television Personalities, Jim Reid), The Loves are set to release their second album Technicolour. Technicolour eschews the current trend for annoying high end staccato angular guitars and wonky elastic bass lines and instead aims for a sound somewhere between "Headquarters"-era Monkees and The Velvet Underground. It features two of the EP tracks, "Xs and Os," a fuzzed-up love song to a friend in trouble and "She'll Break Your Heart Again," an imaginary lost late 60s beat pop classic. There are plenty of other great tracks too: the pop hits "I My She Love You" and "Honey," and the jazzy "Summertime." With Technicolour, The Loves take a little of the color from their dreams of the Sixties and use it to brighten up the modern day. Standard Jewel Case.
