When K-Trap entered the UK music scene, he was shrouded in mystery. Donning a mask that he kept on until 2019, his opaque appearance made his raps stop you in your tracks. Real, visceral and unmistakably authentic, K-Trap channelled the harsh concrete confines of his South London milieu and transmitted reports from the streets in song, geared towards fans of `real rap' and, slowly but surely, the bright lights of the UK mainstream.
