Most of the selections on On Our Way Home were recorded in concert two nights after the U.S. invaded Iraq (March, 2003). Both the band and the venue (a church) were uncertain as to whether to go ahead with the concert due to the palpable anxiety and distress in the air at that time. Ultimately, we went ahead with the show. Perhaps it was the tension that enabled both the musicians and the audience to concentrate on the performance as a means of finding some respite from the world's woes that make this a particularly compelling recording; listeners can sense the relief that music brings in times of trouble. Long-time BGP fans consistently remind us that this is one of their favorites. And everyone loves the sheep on the cover.
