Fairweather Friend

Burton is the natural heir to a long line of unsung singer-songwriters - such `downer folk' troubadours as Bob Desper, Dana Westover and Tucker Zimmerman - whose recordings he weaned himself on at an impressionable age. Following in the footsteps of the forgotten, and having keenly absorbed the music of the ages, Burton has honed his talent with passionate discipline. With his shadowy baritone and subtly intricate picking, his carefully crafted songs ooze rock hard resignation and melancholy conviction, and he has arrived at a style that is both timeless and deeply personal. `Fairweather Friend' features production by Jonathan Wilson in Topanga and Echo Park and is influenced by the environment of Los Angeles and Burton's relationship to his own heart and integrity.
