Concert and documentary featuring Valery Gergiev and the World Orchestra for Peace. Gergiev conducts the orchestra in a performance at the BBC Proms on the 100th anniversary of the outbreak of the First World War and on the 150th birthday of Richard Strauss. The concert includes Strauss's 'Symphonic Fantasia' from 'Die Frau ohne Schatten', Roxanna Panufnik's 'Three Paths to Peace' and Mahler's Symphony No. 6. 'From War to Peace' takes a look at the World Orchestra for Peace which was formed in 1995 by Sir Georg Solti, who offers contributions along with Gergiev.
