Open ears and an open mind are the essences of singer, guitarist and songwriter Robert Cray, whose career spans from the roots of the blues to the pinnacles of rock, from the eighties to the present day. 2012's 'Nothin' But Love' was the 16th studio album by the veteran soul-bluesman and features Kevin Shirley (Joe Bonamassa, Beth Hart, Rush) on production duties. His soft-sweet vocals and recognisable playing yearn on stories about love and broken relationships alongside big-band swing and rock 'n' roll. Songs such as the nine-minute 'I'm Done Crying' still sound spine-tinglingly classic but contemporary at the same time, whilst 'Side Dish' still has that infectious, irresistible zip.
