Collection of Shakespeare's plays set in Rome. 'Coriolanus' (2017) is set around the drama that unfolds on the battlefield around Caius Martius Coriolanus (Sope Dirisu), an ambitious, fearless soldier who doesn't want to be a leader, even after his mother uses her influence to get him into a position of power. In 'Julius Caesar' (2017), Andrew Woodall assumes the title role as he triumphantly returns to Rome following the war against Pompey. However, with some senators fearing that too much power is held by one man, Caius Cassius (Martin Hutson) secretly plans to have Caesar assassinated. 'Antony and Cleopatra' (2017) follows the love affair between the Roman general Marc Antony (Antony Byrne) and the Egyptian Queen Cleopatra (Josette Simon) which had destructive consequences for the ancient world. Finally, in 'Titus Andronicus' (2017), David Troughton plays the role of the Roman army general who sacrifices the eldest son of Tamora Queen of the Goths (Nia Gwynne) to avenge his sons who were killed in war. Tamora plots her own scheme for revenge while Titus refuses to become the new emperor, a decision which has tragic consequences.
