1000 masterpieces from the great museums of the world is one of the most successful TV series about art. In five short reviews, well-known authors open a deep access to masterpieces of painting - understandably explained and entertaining presented. In 1874, an artist group with the mock-name 'Impressionists' in a first exhibition the Paris public. Too revolutionary was the spirit of young open-air painters who explained the impression of the moment in the play of colours of light to the content of their art.
