REVIEW
As with his Elektra at last summers Salzburg Festival, Lehnhoffs strength in this Salome is the psychological accuracy and musicality of his direction In Baden-Baden Lehnhoff can rely on a superb ensemble led by Angela Denoke, with her stunning singing and acting An enthralling premiere that thoroughly deserved its rapturous reception. --Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung
The rest of the cast has been carefully selected, and the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin under Stefan Soltesz ranges from passionate lyricism to orgiastic thundering. Soltesz has no need to dominate he knows where to emphasise, where to come to the fore, where to hold back. These are professionals at work, with nothing problematical or over-interpreted it is quite simply a masterful modern operatic performance, convincingly presented with clarity and careful attention to detail. --Die Welt
German Lyric dramatic soprano Angela Denoke wins her place in the sun as a lithe if hardly sex-kittenish Salome. She has an expressive, secure and slightly dark-timbered voice. Performance *** Picture &Sound **** --BBC Music Magazine,Apr'12
