Die italienische Altistin Candida Guida, eine der führenden Altstimmen des Barockrepertoires, präsentiert hier gemeinsam mit dem italienischen Ensemble Alraune unter Mario Sollazzo auf NOVANTIQUA eine ganz besondere Aufnahme, in deren Zentrum zwei außergewöhnliche, als Wahnsinnsszenen gestaltete Solokantaten des frühbarocken neapolitanischen Komponisten Pietro Antonio Giramo (aktiv zwischen 1619-1630) stehen. Um diese beiden bizarren Monologe herum singt Guida weitere Vokalwerke von Fago, Farina, Scarlatti und Caresana, von denen einige bislang kaum bekannt sein dürften.
