Im Rahmen der langfristigen Projekt-Serie Tuscania will das italienische Ensemble Alraune die vielen Verbindungen zwischen der Toskana und dem restlichen Europa während des 18. Jahrhunderts aufzeigen. So zog es zahlreiche toskanische Musiker unter anderem nach Spanien, Russland, England und Südamerika, wo viele das dortige Musikleben prägen sollten. Gold Box ist das sechste Album des Projekts und verbindet Kompositionen von Boccherini und Dittersdorf, die von den Musikerinnen und Musikern mit der bewährten charmanten Extravaganz auf historischen Instrumenten gespielt wird.
